Abstract submission
Participants are invited to submit abstracts fitting the conference topics. Each abstract must be prepared in English, following the proposed abstract template (abstract_ecsbm2026.docx, abstract_ecsbm2026.pdf) and uploaded using the Abstract upload form.
Please
do not include the page number in your abstract!
The deadline for abstract submission is April 30,
2026. All conference contributors,
including invited speakers, have to submit an abstract before
the deadline.
Authors of the accepted abstracts will be notified by e-mail by May 30, 2026.
Oral presentations
Oral presentations will be 20 minutes including 5 minutes for questions and/or discussions.
Hardware and software
The following audio-video
equipment will be in each conference room: one projection screen, one data
projector, one Windows (10 or higher) computer, microphone and laser pointer.
PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat software as well as Quick Time for
playing videos will be available.
Should you require additional equipment it is essential that you
contact the conference secretariat to discuss your requirements. We will try to
accommodate requests, however this cannot be guaranteed.
Speakers should transfer (via a USB drive) their presentation (PowerPoint or PDF file) to the computer in the lecture rooms before the start of their session, from 8.30 to 8.55 AM for the morning sessions, and from 1.00 to 1.45 PM for the afternoon sessions.
Please bring presentations on USB drive so that they can be loaded and tested on the lecture theatre computer prior to each session of talks.
Even if not encouraged, the speakers will be able to use their own laptop for presentation. In this case they should also come to the lecture room before the start of the session (8.30 to 8.55 AM or 1.00 to 1.45 PM) to check whether everything is OK. It is recommended to have a copy of the presentation on a USB key in case of a problem.
Volunteers will be available to help with uploading your talk.
In the interest of fellow
speakers, please ensure that you keep to your allotted time frame. The chair
will time your presentation and provide you with a warning at 2 minutes
remaining and when time is up. You may like to rehearse your presentation with
slides in advance to ensure your presentation fits within the allotted time.
Should one of the presenters in your session not be present, please keep to the
program running order. The same policy applies if the session should finish
earlier.
Poster presentation
All accepted posters will be presented in afternoon Poster Sessions. One board with the dimensions 90cm (width) x 120cm (height) will be allocated to each poster. Only accepted posters can be presented, and one of the authors has to be registered to the conference. Registered posters will have an assigned code indicating the day of the presentation and the board at which it should be displayed.
The posters will be displayed in two sessions:
PS1 - from August 31 (Monday) morning till September 1 (Tuesday) evening
PS2 - from September 1 (Monday) morning till September 2 (Wednesday)
evening
Tapes and tags for fixing your poster onto the boards will be provided.
Please do not forget to remove your poster at the end of the conference. The organizing committee will NOT take the responsibility of removing and keeping your poster after the end of the conference.
Conference proceedings
The contributed works presented at ECSBM 2026 may be published in a Virtual Special Issue (VSI) of Spectrochimica Acta Part A.
The VSI brings together conference-related papers in a dedicated online collection.
However, each accepted manuscript is published as a regular journal article.
