Consortium

The consortium is a joint interdisciplinary effort of four laboratories in Romania, Belgium, Germany and the USA to integrate transnational expertise in carbon nanotubes’ toxicology. Each partner bring expertise from complementary fields to strength the level of understanding and safety awareness needed in relation to carbon nanotubes in particular. ICONS offer a unique combination of competences in physico-chemistry and toxicology of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) to gain more insight into the mechanisms of their respiratory toxicity and the impact of surface functionalization.
